Over at Variety they have a complete list of The Austin Film Critics Association's awards. Most exciting is the fact that they've named "The Dark Knight" best picture of 2008. Here's their Top Ten list (with my comments of course):
- "The Dark Knight" - One of My Favorites
- "Slumdog Millionaire" - Going to see Thursday
- "Milk"
- "Synecdoche, New York"
- "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"
- "The Wrestler"
- "Wall*E" - Just saw this Review coming soon - really enjoyed it
- "Frost/Nixon"
- "Let the Right One In" - Best Foreign Language pic of the year
- "Gran Torino" - kind of a surprise.
The AFCA handed out awards to "The Dark Knight" for Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Adapted Screenplay, Best Score, and of course Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger. (If Ledger is nominated for an Academy Award I'll be very upset)
Best Actor went to Sean Penn for "Milk", Best Actress went to Anne Hathaway for "Rachel Getting Married."
