Starting this past week TMC began airing a new series, Moguls & Movie Stars.  If you missed it don't worry you can check out the premiere again next Monday at 7/6c followed by episode 2 at 8/7c.  This groundbreaking, seven-part documentary series will tell the comprehensive story of the men and women who built the American film industry and explore the American Movie Dynasty, from it’s conception, to the ups and downs, the twists and turns of creating the film industry we have today. Each installments features rare footage, and photographs of the people that started it all, plus interviews with distinguished historians and major Hollywood figures: Sidney Lumet, Richard Zanuck, Samuel Goldwyn Jr., just to name a few.

The series will be narrated by award winning actor, Christopher Plummer. One by one, each documentary will be followed by the respective film that represents each Hollywood era, from 1890’s silent movie to Peepshow Pioneers, to Fade-in, Fade-Out of the 1970’s. The lineup is truly fantastic!

Spanning from the invention of the first moving pictures to the revolutionary, cutting-edge films of the 1960s, this ambitious production is an epic history of Hollywood, detailing the personalities, inter-personal relationships, collaborations and conflicts that created an industry and an art form. The series also serves as a history of America, looking at how moviemakers responded to such major events as the Great Depression, World War II and the Civil Rights movement.

MOGULS & MOVIE STARS is executive-produced by Bill Haber (TNT's Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King; Broadway's The History Boys and Monty Python's Spamalot) and written and produced by Jon Wilkman.
