It's been a long week here in Pampa, and I haven't had much time to post anything new. But today I wanted to give you the chance to check out the promo for the return of NBC's Chuck.
I'm a huge fan of Chuck and am eagerly awaiting it's return next week. And although I haven't had the chance to see the next few episodes, word on the net (specifically Televisionary's Jace) is that the next four episodes are brilliant, game-changing episodes. And while it remains to be seen in what way the game will be changed, from the preview it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun finding out.
I found a quiz I took back in May of 2005 that told me which Lost character I am. I thought it would be fun to see if I got a different result so below are the results from 2005 and Today:

Tonight's another night of great TV with new episodes of Psych, Modern Family, and more. Check out what I'll be watching and maybe some snarky comments below.
USA 10/9c - Psych
Tonight on my favorite USA show titled, A Very Juliet Episode, Juliet recruits Gus to help her locate an old boyfriend, without letting Shawn in on the investigation. But the search ends up revealing a closely guarded secret! I don't know what that means, but I can't wait to find out.
ABC 8/7c - Charlie Brown Valentine / The Middle 8/9c -Modern Family / Cougar Town 10/9c - Ugly Betty
ABC continues to fill in the spot vacated by Kelsey Grammer's failed show, this week with a Charlie Brown Valentine's special. Followed by a new episode of The Middle which I don't watch. But I'm looking forward to Modern Family and Cougar Town which continue to make me laugh week in week out. They round out the night with Ugly Betty which continues its Death March to the series finale.
NBC 8/7c - Mercy 9/8c - Law & Order: SVU - Repeat 10/9c - Law & Order: SVU - New
NBC's plan to fill in for the Jay Leno show is apparently to show repeats and new episode of the same show back to back. It's a great plan guys! Hopefully this whole fiasco will ensure Chuck gets a 4th season and maybe next year will be seeing David Tennant (Doctor Who) in the 10 o'clock hour on his new show Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. But for now, we'll just have to suffer through lots of repeats and Law & Order series.
CBS 8/7c - New Adventures of Old Christine / Gary Unmarried 9/8c - Criminal Minds 10/9c - CSI: NY
I'm just going to take a pass on talking about CBS's Wednesday programing, much like I will be doing tonight. FOX 8/7c - Human Target 9/8c - American Idol
Human Target continues to entertain or bore, depending on how you feel about the show and American Idol continues Hollywood week with new judge Ellen DeGeneres.
The CW 8/7c - Life Unexpected - Repeat 9/8c - Gossip Girl - Repeat
The CW gives us repeats of its great new show Life Unexpected and a show that seems to be over the hill in its 3rd season, Gossip Girl.
TNT 10/9c - Leverage Leverage is another great show that mixes crime drama with humor to create a hybrid show. If you haven't seen it before it's about a team of criminals who have teamed together to con those who prey on the little guy. On tonight's episode, The Three Strikes Job, the team tries to steal a baseball team in order to take down a corrupt mayor, but they run into an unexpected complication.
Sorry to the 2 of you who actually are reading this. I'm in a rush so I'm posting a super condensed version of Tune-In Tonight, tonight. So what's to watch:
USA @ 10/9c White Collar - the show continues to be great and tonight will feature another wonderful caper for Neil and Peter.
ABC @ 9/8c Lost - The Finale Season Continues with "What Kate Does" an episode, I assume will look at the Alternate Timeline Kate as she's on the run from the law. If you tune in an hour early you'll catch the 2nd hour of last week premiere.
Fox @ 8/7c - American Idol - Ellen's first episode and Hollywood Week Begins!!!
NBC has a themed night tonight and it's "The Biggest Loser" to kick off the theme The Biggest Loser will air for 2 hours starting at 8/7 c and then "The Biggest Loser" Jay Leno puts the final nail in the coffin that is The Tonight Show.
Monday night is a heck of a night for TV, Chuck, 24, CBS Comedies, and Greek over on ABC Family. And for the ladies there is of course, The Bachelor! My DVR works overtime on Mondays and still doesn't get them all. NBC 8/7c -Chuck 8/9c -Heroes 10/9c - Jay Leno Show
Chuck is one of my staples. I'm so thankful for the Writer's Strike, Subway, and now the Leno Fiasco for giving Chuck more chances than it would've gotten had it come at any other time. On tonight's episode, Chuck vs. The Mask, Chuck turns a bold move into a potentially dangerous one. And we've got a sneak peek at that episode below, as well as a look at tonight's Season (possible Series?!?!) Finale of Heroes:
ABC 8/7c - The Bachelor 8/9c -The Bachelor 10/9c -Castle
The current bane of my existence, The Bachelor, continues tonight with another 2-Hour Episode. Because my wife loves this show it prevents me from recording either Chuck or 24, meaning I have to catch them on Hulu. Tonight there's no rose ceremony!!! "Why?" you ask, I honestly don't know or care! Why won't you end?!?!?
But ABC does have Castle, with fan favorite Nathan Fillion! On tonight's episode, Suicide Squeeze, Castle and Beckett head out to the ole ballgame when a former pro ball player is murdered after traveling on a goodwill mission to Cuba, and Joe Torre appears as himself!
CBS 8/7c - How I Met Your Mother / Accidentally on Purpose 8/9c -Two & a Half Men / The Big Bang Theory 10/9c - CSI: Miami
HIMYM, Accidentally on Purpose, and The Big Bang Theory are three shows I watch each week and while HIMYM and Big Bang are always on, Accidentally has been surprising me by getting better every week. Tonight on HIMYM, Lily and Marshall have to find Ted a blind date for Valentine's Day. Over on Accidentally, Billie goes to Zack's High School reunion uninvited. And on Big Bang Leonard must choose between Penny and Sheldon when he's only allowed to bring one guest with him on a trip to visit the CERN science complex in Switzerland.
After that is CSI: Miami, I'm not sure what will happen other than bad acting and sunglasses being put on by Horatio.
FOX 8/7c - House 8/9c - 24
House has a Cuddy-centered episode that shows just what the boss is up to all day, while Jack will presumably torture someone over on 24.
The CW 8/7c - One Tree Hill 8/9c - Life Unexpected
On tonight's One Tree Hill someone sleeps with someone else and there's some kind of repercussions. (I don't actually know, just assuming)
And on the wonderful new series Life Unexpected, Lux gets suspended and Cate tries to fix it by speaking with the principal, which just makes things worse. Meanwhile, Baze gets upset when Cate's radio show plans an event at another bar nearby. ABC Family 8/7c - The Secret Life of the American Teenager 8/9c -Make It or Break It 10/9c - Greek
On tonight's Secret Life some kids have sex or talk about sex or don't have sex and talk about not having sex. On Make it or Break it there's something to do with gymnastics.
On tonight's Greek, entitled Take Me Out, Casey and Cappie must deal with being on opposite teams during a Greek softball tournament, Rusty continues to struggle in his role as pledge educator, Rebecca confuses Logan, and Calvin asks Rusty to bond with Grant.
All in all a great night of television. So what are you watching?
Let's face it Friday is mostly a wasteland for Network TV. In fact looking at tonight's schedule I see nothing that I'll be watching, which is why I usually go out Fridays , watch a DVD, or catch up on my DVR. But there are a couple of channels worth checking out tonight on Cable. Those Channels are E!, Starz, and SyFy.
E! 10/9c - The Soup This is consistently one of the funniest shows on TV thanks to host Joe McHale (who also brings the funny on Thursday nights on NBC's Community). Each week McHale and his crack team of interns bring us clips from the past weeks dramas, reality shows, talk shows, basically any show which has something hilarious or awful, and then they make fun of it. It's a simple premise, but one that pays off in TONS of big laughs.
STARZ 10/9c - Spartacus Starz new series Spartacus is not your Dad's Spartacus. It's closer to 300 in style and features tons of blood, action, and love. The show got off to a decent start with episode one but has really picked up the pace with episode 2 and tonight's 3rd offering. The show tells the story of Spartacus a soldier who is forced into slavery and eventually leads an uprising against the Romans, all for the love of one woman.
Tonight's episode, Legends, Spartacus cleverly secures the right to battle Crixus, the unbeaten champ of Capua, in the main event of an important competition that will be the highlight of the festival. Lucretia objects, but Batiatus reminds her that Spartacus has struck a cord with the public. You can see a couple of clips below:
SyFy 9/8c - Caprica SyFy's BSG prequel Caprica continues tonight with an episode titled, Reins of a Waterfall. In the episode we see the media backlash against the Graystones after Amanda's public confession about Zoe's role in the bombing. The tension also causes problems for Lacy at school. Meanwhile, Sam and Joseph confront Daniel while Zoe plots her next move. You can see a clip below.
ETA: MSNBC Just got word that MSNBC will be airing a special about the circumstances of Michael Jackson's death tonight at 10/9c. Here's the press information and a clip:
It’s been months of speculation and we all want to know– why did Michael Jackson die at such a young age? Tonight we hear how Dr. Conrad Murray came to be hired as Michael Jackson's personal physician while authorities reveal why he should face involuntary manslaughter charges in the singer’s death. Dateline reveals the key piece of evidence that has been uncovered to finally put the story to rest.
Welcome to another edition of Tune-In Tonight where we'll look at what shows you should be checking out tonight and what I'll be avoiding like the plague.
USA 10/9c - Burn Notice
This is probably the show I'm most excited about tonight as it's one of my favorites. On tonight's episode, which I unfortunately don't have a clip of this week, Micheal must adjust to working with Gilroy as his new partner while helping his drug-dealing neighbor (the same guy from the pilot?) who is seeking protection from a crew of thieves.
I'm really looking forward to tonight's episode after last week's. I know some people thought Micheal's El Diablo cover was a bit too over the top, but I loved it. The suit, the whisper, blowing things up with the snap of a finger. Sure it was over the top, but for me it was just right and worked perfectly. ABC 8/7c - The Deep End 8/9c -Grey Anatomy 10/9c - Private Practice
If my TV makes it to ABC tonight it's clearly be accident, because this may be the worst 3 hour block of television on any schedule this year. The Deep End looks horrid and as an attorney I have no interest in watching sexy people get paid much more than I do, doing a better job than they do. Grey's used to be good, but was over before they killed off George which was the final nail in the coffin for me. And Private Practice really didn't even start off good. It was just more vapid people doing things no one cares about and fighting and complaining about being lonely for an hour. Bleh!
NBC 8/7c - Community / Parks & Recreation 9/8c - The Office / 30 Rock 10/9c - Honestly No Clue!
I will be watching Community, The Office, and 30 Rock this evening, as these are easily three of the funniest shows on TV on a fairly consistent basis. I don't know what NBC is airing in the 10 o'clock block as they canceled Leno early, but as long as it's not Leno it's an improvement. You can see a preview of tonight's episodes of Community, Parks & Recs, and 30 Rock below:
CBS 8/7c - Surviving Survivor 9/8c - CSI 10/9c - The Mentalist
I watched exactly one season of Survivor so the special airing tonight, which probably has something to do with it being the 10th-ish anniversary of the show, is not my cup of tea. CSI is a great show, but I usually just catch up on reruns on Spike occasionally. But I will be watching The Mentalist as it's an intriguing and often hilarious procedural, even if it is a rip-off of the far superior Psych.
FOX 8/7c - Bones 9/8c - Fringe
I made it about 5 episodes into the first season of both of these series. Although they're both great from what I've seen, I've got other stuff to watch.
Comedy Central 10/9c - Important Things with Demetri Martin 10:30/9:30c - The Sarah Silverman Show
I'm a huge fan of Demetri Martin so I'm looking forward to tonight's season premiere. I wish I could say the same thing about Sarah Silverman, but she just annoys the hell out of me. You can see clips from both shows below.
Welcome to a new column where I'll be reminding you of what's heading to your TV screens each night. Of course I'll be highlighting some of my favorite shows each night, such as USA's amazing programs, but I'll also inform you of new series, and sometimes a show that we can all agree to make fun of! Each column will list some highlights from that night's schedule and possibly bring you some clips, pics, and behind-the-scenes footage from the shows. So Lets Begin!
Tonight is packed full of shows that we record in The CineManiac household including new episode of Modern Family and Cougar Town on ABC starting at 9/8c and Fox's Human Target and American Idol beginning at 8/7c.
Over on CBS you can catch the special Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials, which I myself will be avoiding like the plague, because seriously folks do we want to watch a program of commercials that's interrupted by more commercials? Sadly, I'm sure some of you do.
But the highlight of the night is over on USA at 10/9c when an all new episode of Psych Premieres! In the episode, title Thrill Seekers & Hell Raisers, Shawn implicates Gus' secret girlfriend when a rafter goes overboard on an outing with the adrenaline-junkie played by guest star Sarah Shahi (Life). You can see a clip from the episode below:
And finally over on TNT you can see a brand new episode of Leverage, also on at 10/9c. In the episode, The Future Job, the team must take down Luke Perry, who guests as a fake Psychic who scams his clients. Personally it sounds to me like someone's been watching too much Psych & The Mentalist.
